I den sidste månedstid, hvor jeg har lavet forarbejder til nye malerier, har vi også fået to ejendomsmæglere i Uzès til at prøve på at sælge vores hus. Det er jo godt at de får lidt indbyrdes konkurrence, så de bliver nødt til at bestille noget. Vi er kommet på deres hjemmesider, og den ene vil få os med i et boligmagasin 🙂
Selv forsøger vi også at sælge huset. Det bliver billigere for køberen, for her i Frankrig er det køberen der betaler ejendomsmæglersalæret, som er 6% der bliver lagt på prisen af huset.
Det er derfor 6% billigere når det er os der sælger huset.Derfor har jeg lavet en “Hus til Salg” side, med plantegninger, mål, fotos, solskinstimer osv. på min hjemmeside som kan ses HER
Jeg er begyndt at lave skitser på min MacBook til nye malerier.
En af de store fordele ved at male og tegne på computer, er at man har mulighed for at gemme tegningen i forskellige stadier, man kan således eksperimentere frit, uden at miste den originale tegning.
Mine 12 forarbejder til nye malerier er blevet så gode, at jeg har valgt de 4 bedste ud, til tryk. Jeg er inde i en positiv og glad periode, og det kan ses på billederne.
De 4 er hver trykt i 20 eksemplarer, nummereret og signeret. Derefter er billedfilen blevet destrueret.

Depuis un an environ, nous songeons a vendre la grande maison de village dans le Gard qui a été notre foyer ces 24 dernières années.
Le projet est désormais lancé: La maison est mise en vente.
Si vous rêvez d’acheter une grande maison médiévale, voici l’occasion.
Les habitants du temps jadis y fabriquaient du vin, la presse était encore dans l’une des caves voûtées. Dans les caves il y avait également des installations pour les moutons et les chevaux.
La maison est située assez haut, à environ 230m au-dessus de la surface de la mer. La vue vers l’Ouest révèle une forêt de pins et de chataigniers. Vers l’Est la maison donne sur l’église et le château du village. Ce dernier est un château-fort du Moyen-Âge avec meutrières et de hautes tours qui s’élèvent vers le ciel.
Vers le Sud nous avons une terrasse ensoleillée presque toute la journée et toute l’année. Il y a également une courette ombragée pour les journées les plus chaudes, rafraîchie par un grand palmier et une muraille vivante de bambous.
La maison elle-même est comfortable: Les murs épais la rendent fraîche l’été et gardent la chaleur en hiver – Avec l’aide du chauffage au fioul.
La maison est placée au centre d’un minuscule village, Fontarèches, et devant la maison s’étale la paisible place de l’église, où trois acacias anciens étirent leurs branches vers la maison et le reste de la place. L’église, qui date du XIe ou XIIe Siècle, est rarement utilisée, mais elle est belle et récemment restaurée. Toutes les maisons du village sont en pierres naturelles couleur ocre jaune et luisent au soleil.
Autour de l’an zéro il y avait à l’emplacement du village une villa romaine nommée Villa de Fonte Erecto (“La villa à la source jaillisante”), qui constitua la base du village. Au XVIe Siècle le nom actuel de Fontarèches fût adopté. La Source jaillit toujours, mais de manière plus mesurée.
Le village est situé sur un rocher posé sur un plateau calcaire, et il est entouré de forêts et de garrigue, où l’on peut marcher pendant des heures sans rencontrer personne d’autre que les lapins et les sangliers.
Pour la mise en vente de la maison, nous avons fait élaborer un diagnostic immobilier, ce qui est obligatoire. La maison est telle que nous l’avons toujours ressentie, saine et solide. Elle a obtenu l’étiquette C dans le diagnostic énergétique, ce qui est exceptionnel pour une maison aussi ancienne. Nous pensons que c’est notre oeil danois, habitué à traquer les pertes de chaleur dans un climat plus rude, qui nous a poussés à privilégier les solutions offrant le maximum d’isolation dans chaque phase de la restauration de la maison depuis 24 ans. Nous avons toujours apprécié de vivre dans cette maison.
Maintenant que notre décision est prise, nous souhaitons profiter le temps qui nous reste, et revivre les endroits et les évènements qui ont contribué à donner un sens à notre vie ici.
Dans deux semaines commence le marché aux truffes d’Uzès, qui se situe à 12 km d’ici. Suivant notre tradition, nous allons déjeuner dans l’un des petits restaurants de la ville. À l’occasion du marché, ils servent un menu entrée-plat-dessert à base de truffes. Peut-être que nous rapporterons aussi une truffe pour parfumer nos propres plats.
Le printemps approche !
Fin Février, les amandiers se couvrent de leur nuée de fleurs blanches et roses. Les amandiers sont relayés par les floraisons roses des abricotiers et pêchers, les cerisiers et enfin les pommiers. Le paysage entier est illuminé de nuages de fleurs.
Les champs d’asperges sont d’ores et déjà couverts de leurs longues bandes de plastique blanc. Les asperges épaisses et juteuses sont récoltées fin Mars. Nous avons pour habitude de les acheter par cagettes de 5 kg. chez un producteur local.
Les vignes sont maintenant fraîchement taillées, et prêtes à faire pousser leurs longues tentacules. Elles attendent le mois de mai, quand les rossignols chantent comme des fous. Selon la légende, un rossignol se trouva captif après s’être endormi dans une vigne, et c’est pour cela qu’ils chantent la nuit: Pour rester éveillés, tant que la vigne pousse.
La plupart des vignes des alentours ont éte plantées pendant ces 24 dernières années. Les viticulteurs misent maintenant sur un produit de qualité: Non loin d’ici, des vins connus sont fabriqués: Gigondas, Lirac, Chateauneuf-du Pape, et le premier rosé de France, Tavel. Le vin qui vient des vignes que nous voyons dans nos ballades quotidiennes peut se mesurer à ces appellations.
Nous allons également revisiter les grandes villes des environs: Nîmes, avec ses arènes romaines, Avignon et le Palais de papes, et le Pont du Gard, l’impressionant aqueduc romain qui menait l’eau de la source d’Uzès à Nîmes, un parcours d’environ cinquante km.
Une autre sortie que nous prévoyons est la visite des grandes carrières d’ocre, dont les jeux de couleurs et de lumière ont constitué la base de mes peintures.
For about a year, we have been talking about selling our large village house in Southern France, our home for the last 24 years.
This project is now a reality: The house is for sale.
If anyone has a dream about owning a big house from the Medieval era, this is your chance!
The house used to be a winemaker’s. When we bought it, the old press was still standing in one of the rooms. Other rooms on the ground floor were arranged as stables for sheep and horses.
The house is situated in a high spot, about 230 m. above sea level. To the West, one can see woods of pines and chestnut trees. To the East one can see the main buildings of the village: The church and the château, a medieval fortress with towers and embrasures, and walls reaching for the sky. To the South we have a large terrass, where the sun shines for most of the day all year long. For hot days there is also a small shaded yard with a large palm tree and bamboos for coolness.
The house itself is comfortable: The thick walls keep it cool in summer and warm during winter. Oil heating helps keeping the house warm in the latter case.
It is placed in the center of a tiny village, Fontarèches, and opens up towards the peaceful gravelled Church Square, where century-old acacias strech out their crooked branches towards the house and the square. Church services are rare, but the church, which was built in the Eleventh or Twelfth Century is beautiful and recently restored.
All the buildings in the village are made of yellow ocher stones, which glow in the sunlight. Sun is not wanting: This region has the most hours of sun in all of France.
In the first Century there was a Roman Villa where the Village is, Villa de Fonte Erecto (“The Villa With the Springing Source”). About the Sixteenth Century the Village was given its actual name: Fontarèches. The source is still springing, but at a calmer pace.
The Village is Built on a rock upon the plateau, and is surrounded by wild nature: Woods and spaces with low bushes called Garrigue. One can walk for hours in this landscape without meeting anyone but rabbits and wild boars.
In view of the sale, an evaluation of the house has been done (diagnostic immobilier). It is mandatory in France, when you want to sell a house. The expert said that it is a strong and healthy house, which we have always felt. It has also been given the energy label “C”, which is exceptionally good for such an old house. We believe that we owe this to our Danish sense of comfort and experience with keeping the cold out, which has been with us in every step of the restoration process. We have always been very fond of living here.
Now that our decision is taken, we want to enjoy our last time here, and revisit the places we have known and loved through the years.
In two weeks the truffle market in Uzès will start. Following our own tradition, we will go to one of the local restaurants for lunch. For the occasion they usually serve a three course meal dedicated to truffles. Maybe we will even buy a truffle of our own to flavour our home cooking.
Then Spring will be here: By the end of February the almond trees will be covered in white and pink blossoms. They are followed by the pink apricot blossoms and, almost simultaneously, the peach and the cherry blossoms and finally the apple blossoms. The whole landscape is lit up with clouds of delicate flowers.
The aspargus fields are already covered in long straight lines of plastic. The thick, juicy aspargus are in season around the end of March. We usually buy them in 5 kg-cases.
The Vineyards are freshly cropped and ready to grow their long tentacles. They are waiting for May, when the the nightingales are singing like crazy. Legend has it a nightingale was once caught in a fastly growing vine while it was sleeping, which is why they sing all night to stay awake at that time of year.
Many of the vineyards have been planted during the 24 years we have lived here. The agricultural project is to make quality wine: Not far from here are the well known wine districts Gigondas, Lirac, Chateauneuf-du-Pape, and the best Rosé of France, Tavel. The vineyards we cross during our daily morning walks produce a wine that is comparable to these prestigious brands.
We also project to re-visit the cities not far from here: Nîmes, with its big Roman arena, Avignon and the Pope’s palace and Pont du Gard, the impressive Roman building that led water from the source in Uzès to Nîmes, 50 km. away.
Another place we plan to see again in a near future are the great ocher pits. Their many nuances and plays of light have inspired me a lot in my painting.
